![]() ![]() ![]() Rotten Egg carries games if you can unlock and upgrade it, but like its counterpart, that takes time and you're sinking dice into it. Inventor: "Always offered as scrap" items got their own subsection at the bottom, since I think it's fun to compare them to each other. A lot of their other items are strong as well S tier looks pretty cramped. Drop an upgrade on it and you just are unable to lose the round! Luckily this is balanced out by them not getting Thick Skin, but seriously. Robot: In a personal "balance" mod I'm tinkering with, Overclock does 1 damage and reduces the CPU counter by 1, and it's still the strongest item there. You can usually make it work with Thief though. Hence the really flat-looking shape of this graph - there's quite a few good items, quite a few bad items, and not too many average ones. A few of the crappy PU countdown items (Secret Weapon, Raw Ambition) spawn, as well as the infamous Broken Mirror. Thief: Definitely some hit or miss items in here. Warrior doesn't get many duds aside from Matchstick/Singularity/SEC. Trident is absurd but, upon reflection not as strong as I thought it was. Warrior: Not much to say here! Candle, Thick Skin are consistently high choices. Made in Excel, by sifting through the item pool files - Dicey Dungeons/data/text/scripts/diceydungeons/itempools/_remixgenerator/vanilla.hx - open them in any text editor. This basically locks you out of any lategame build focused around an item for your damage, aside from leaning into a dodgy Kapow build which I've never been able to make work. Infestation, Evil/Manic Laugh are all just terrible items. The only reason you'd ever take the Flying Skull pack is for Flying Skull. It's not a spell you keep around for the whole run. Harvest Scythe is good for killing a boss and nothing else. Glass Cauldron is also great, but again, you kind of need a build for it. It can work, but it weirdly feels less reliable than even Dragon's Tooth. ![]() ![]() And I'm much happier seeing Overclock than Virus. Each run you've got a 20% chance of getting Virus, and if you don't, you'll get Overclock. It's also worth noting that Virus/Overclock are guaranteed but mutually exclusive. Overclock existing kind of warps the "meta" for Robot into one where you roll as many dice as possible in a turn. Virus is great but requires setup it also requires leaning into a jackpot build which are just worse than a "value" build with Heat Sink/Overclock/etc. And that's without any other poisoning items. Alternatively: Blight on turn 2 which inflicts (5+5-1) * 2 = 18 poison. Assuming you've got 12 dice pips left over (not unreasonable with Counterfeit, you could use Poison Slingshot on turn 1 and 2, which inflicts a total of (5+5) + (4+4) - 1 = 17 poison on turn 2. For example: if you've got Poison Needle+, that's 5 poison per turn. It helps to stack the poison up, but it uses 12 pips which could have went into Blight. You can finish bosses on turn 2 with it! And sure, Poison Slingshot is a part of it, but it's not the main point of it. Sometimes you can lose a big damage-dealer and Capacitor will still carry you.īlight is the top end of most of my poison builds. For Inventor, it's also a VERY solid damage dealer since your build is going to be all over the place. Midnight Charm is okay, but you really need to upgrade it to become useful. Capacitor is deceptively powerful for Warrior! Being able to inflict huge amounts of shock is very strong, and if Warlock's rule is active it becomes a powerhouse. ![]()
